Hi, I'm Shannon Puckett and I teach Integrated Physics and Chemistry at Wylie High School. I grew up here in Abilene, graduating from Cooper High School and Texas A&M University. I am married and we have 3 children. I am also the Varsity Cheerleading sponsor. This is my first year in teaching, I have spent the last several years raising our children. This year has been exceptional and very rewarding. I love teaching high school and spending time with the cheerleading squad. I learn alot from my students and they make me laugh. I hope to open the door to the world of science in an interesting, challenging and positive way. I also hope that my students leave my classroom of not only an understanding of science, but also a little more understanding of compassion, respect, courage and integrity.
This year we have a new IPC book, which I have found to be very thorough and easy to understand. We have already covered many chemistry topics such as atoms, molecules, reactions, bonding, metals and nonmetals, acids and bases. Soon we will begin the physics portion of the year and will be discussing topics such as motion, force, gravity, light and waves. I hope this information has assisted you! Thank you and have a good year. |
