Hi! I'm Robin Pritchett, and I teach Seventh Grade Language Arts here at Wylie Junior High. This is my sixth year to teach, though my first two were spent teaching eighth graders. Because I grew up with a love of the written language, I enjoy transferring that love to my students. Even if they don't love reading and writing as much as I do, I try to make each student realize and appreciate his or her strengths and creativity in this area.
In my class this year the students will not just study the parts of speech, sentence structure, spelling/vocabulary, poetry, literature, propaganda techniques, types of writing, etc., but they will also learn to apply the knowledge to their writing and speaking skills. Furthermore, through the accelerated reading program, students will have the opportunity to read a variety of interesting books within their comfort zone, and though they might not realize it now, this too will increase their speaking and writing vocabulary, as well as the overall understanding of human nature and the world around them. I am looking forward to an exciting, motivating second semester with each and every student.
