Hello, my name is Jill Tate and I teach 8th grade Pre-Algebra. I have been at Wylie Junior High since 1997. The primary goal of 8th grade Pre-Algebra is to prepare for Algebra I, which my students will take next year. We still add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and decimals; however, along with that we solve equations and evaluate expressions. I enjoy math because it is logical and anyone can follow steps and arrive at a clear right answer. I enjoy Wylie because of all the people I work with and the students, especially the ones that get my jokes (or at least pretend to).
