Hi, I am Anna Ray. I am currently teaching Algebra I and Algebra II at Wylie High School. In addition to teaching math I also sponsor the Pure Gold Band Color Guard. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. I grew up in a family that was centered around education. My grandfather was a teacher, coach, bus driver and administrator for over 30 years. My mother has taught at Wylie for over 17 years, and therefore, Wylie holds a special place in my heart. I was raised in the Wylie community and I loved the atmosphere, people and spirit of Wylie. After graduating in 2001, I moved to Lubbock, TX and pursued a degree in Multidisciplinary Science and Math Education at Texas Tech University. While in college, I was a member of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland and a captain for the Texas Tech Color Guard. I married my high school sweetheart and former Wylie graduate Matt Ray on January 1, 2005.
I am excited to start out my career at Wylie! Coming back to Abilene and teaching at Wylie has been my dream ever since I left to go to college. Wylie is a great community, and I look forward to working with the students, parents, teachers and administrators. Feel free to contact me if I can assist you in any way.
